Description
Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) is a flowering herb plant of which stepping parts are boiled to make a flavorful herbal tea that can be consumed hot or cold. Both systolic and diastolic blood pressure can be lowered with hibiscus tea. It can also increase “good” HDL cholesterol while lowering “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, reducing the risk of heart disease and the buildup of fat in the liver, which can lead to liver failure. Several studies suggest that hibiscus tea is linked to weight loss and obesity prevention. Polyphenols, which have been shown to have powerful anti-cancer properties, are also abundant in Hibiscus.
